In the mornings, participants can elect which activities they wish to take part in, from guided walks, mapping, and site visits or they can opt to stay at the old school and have a deep dive into the library in front of the stove or hang out in the classroom in front of an easel. Then, in the afternoons, we will come together as a group for studio time, exploring the themes we covered in the course together, playing with various materials and making both individually or collaboratively. After a break for dinner, we will return to Loch Croistean for an informal ceilidh, with a guest tutor for a fun evening together. Our Gaelic tutors comprise of visual artists, local historians and tradition barers. During these informal evenings, we may hear about these artists' creative practice, local stories, customs, songs and music. As a group we will jounrey accross the three days to revisit some of the themes exlored on the course and find how they are landing within your creative practice, nurturing individual ways of seeing and place-based practices. This will be time for fun, for supporting each other and learning alongside others and refilling your creative wellspring! This is a non-residential retreat, however we can provide information that will assist you finding local accomodation. Each day will run from 10am-4pm, taking a break for dinner before coming back together in the evenings from 7-9pm. All materials on the course will be provided. Each day is fully catered to include hot drinks, lunches and home baking.
